Interview: Jon James from Incensepunk Magazine
I’m trying something different today, and was lucky to chat to a pioneer in the new wave of indie sci fi writing amid the fall out of…well… everything of late.
Jon James is one of the driving forces behind Incensepunk magazine on Substack.
The genesis of the project started over the last three years based on some images by among the weird catholic twitter circles (check out more of these HERE).
The niche sci fi movement represents an exploration of the intersection of traditional religion and future technology in a way that respects both.
Over the last few years Jon has built up a small dedicated team of likeminded writers, and created a growing platform for even more.
In this interview we explore all of the juicy details, and I get some really useful insights and inspiration about my own plans on this front (keep an eye out for a dedicated article on this topic shortly). The teaser is that the Keystone Awards are not exactly dead- just slumbering while I launch something more feasible and even more exciting in the near future.
